So here's what just happened in my first senior class:
The kids are doing a project where I give them literary terms and they have to find real world example of them. One of the terms is Modernism. A few minutes later I hear a girl say, "Modernism. Oh! Modern Family! That's totally the same word, right?" The kid in front of my desk pops his head up and looks at me with huge eyes and shakes his head.
Fuck our lives.
