Read More Books: Zero

I met Tom Leveen on the internet almost 10 years ago.  This is something that 10 years ago I would have been totally ashamed to share, but that was also back before meeting people on the internet wasn't that big of a deal.  These days, two people who I a) talk to nearly every day and b) tell EVERYTHING to are people I met through my online journal.  Which makes sense now also because I've managed to meet a bunch of super awesome people through this blog.  Isn't technology fucking awesome?

I wrote faithfully in my LiveJournal then, and, though I can't remember the specifics, either through a community or mutual interests, somehow our paths crossed.  I was a wide-eyed college student in my first internship, and he was a lot of things.  We communicated through LJ and emails, and I soon discovered our mutual love of young adult literature.  Tom wanted to be a writer, had been writing since he was a young adult, and he even sent me a draft of what would later become his first novel, Party.  After I shared my dream of also becoming a writer, he encouraged me to write often and much, something I've rarely found time to do.  Since then we've stayed friends, been able to meet in real life, and I've been happy to see his career growing.

Party was published two years ago, and today Tom's second book, Zero, was published.  If you love YA, and want to read some great books, please go pick up a copies of Tom's books.  I promise you won't be disappointed, and as an added bonus, you'll be helping to buy diapers for his ridiculously cute baby.

Also, fun fact: Tom was the first person to call me M, which later become my blog pseudonym.  (Fun fact #2: neither my first or last name start with M.)

Also, a very long time ago, he sent me this video, which is still in my youtube favorites and still makes me laugh...
