Well, Friday was pretty much a terrible day. I had a meeting with the principal that didn't go very well (no, I'm not getting fired, nor am I in trouble) and it left me feeling defeated, offended, and very angry. I can't talk about specifics, I'm sorry. I slept terribly on Friday night and have been uneasy all weekend. Last night I was at a retirement party for one of my co-workers (who I'm going to miss immensely because that person is the smartest person I've ever met in my life), and I pulled my dept chair aside and discussed the situation with her. She made me feel infinitely better. I'm going back to talk to the principal on Monday to get things sorted out. I'll report back after that.
That said, I've been playing this song over and over again, dancing around my house, doing various things. It took me a few episodes to get into HBO's new show "Girls", but with last week's episode ending in a Robyn dance party, they won my heart. Didn't you listen to Robyn when you were in high school, people who are my age? You should have. OK, one more dance party and then I'm off to see "The Avengers", because I also need some hot dudes, guns, and shit blowing up at 9 am on a Sunday morning.
...and before Robyn it was "Flashdance"--check your Wayback Machine.
ReplyDeleteHope your next talk with principal goes well.
Oh no! I hope your next talk with the principal gets things right.
ReplyDeleteI cannot say I did listen to Robyn in high school, but that is really no testament to the statistical average of our generation, as I didn't listen to a lot of mainstream music growing up. I did for about 2.5 seconds in middle school, but by high school my car primarily rocked Christian pop/rock & Broadway-musical soundtracks.
