Teaching Mulitple Meanings

Me: It was sort of a crazy-ass kind of situation.
Kid: That's such a weird phrase, "crazy-ass", like what is it supposed to even mean? Why ass?
Me: I don't know, it's just something you throw onto the end of a word for emphasis, I suppose.
Kid: Well, I definitely don't like ass anymore. [A beat.] No wait, I DO!
Me: I'm sure you do, but I don't want to talk about this...crazy-ass kid.
